Visual Design | Risograph Printing
Day's End is a risograph-printed poetry zine, exploring the layered history of the Christopher Street piers in New York City. A collaboration with poet Joshua Garcia, the nesting works reflect on photographs of the queer community that gathered there in the mid-1980's, and the presence of David Hammons’ sculptural installation, erected where Pier 52 once stood. Through print and verse, Day's End reflects on memory, community, and the ever-shifting landscape of queer history.
Monoprint
This monoprint series highlights the interaction between lithography inks and dried hibiscus flowers collected during the summer of 2024. During the printing process, I noticed the fragile petals disintegrating upon contact with the ink and dampened paper. The breakdown created unique patterns and textures, letting me capture different elements of the flower in every print from the stamen to the veins of the petals. I hope the results reflect the beauty of the blossoms and the improvisational nature of monotype.
Visual Design | Printing
"Stuck" is a Risograph-printed zine born from writer's block and indecision. First developed as a digital zine, this 8-page zine unfolds to reveal a centerfold spread, with imagery reflecting the struggle to find my voice and commit it to print.
Monoprint
These monoprints were created using the cropped-off bottom of a t-shirt as a stencil and stamp, transforming what might be considered waste into something new and beautiful. As queer individuals, we have a unique ability to take discarded items and reimagine them, finding beauty and value in what others may overlook.
Cover Art | Graphic Design
The Quaranzine is a satirical digital zine I co-created with Angelica Richie and a community of artists during the Covid-19 pandemic. With a tone that straddled The Onion and Highlights Magazine, we explored an array of themes for millennials navigating life in quarantine.
Serving as the graphic designer and co-editor for 14 volumes, I helped bring contributor’s features to life. Spreads included everything from a RuPaul’s Drag Race sports column to house pet op-eds, and Cosmo-style personality quizzes to Zoom happy hour recipes.
Monoprint | Collage
In a “cheeky” dialogue with Andy Warhol’s iconic Triple Elvis (1963), this monoprint and collage series utilizes hand-cut stencils, transparency effects, and repetition to evoke a visual rhythm.
