Hibiscus Monoprints

This monoprint series highlights the interaction between lithography inks and dried hibiscus flowers collected during the summer of 2024. During the printing process, I noticed the fragile petals disintegrating upon contact with the ink and dampened paper. The breakdown created unique patterns and textures, letting me capture different elements of the flower in every print from the stamen to the veins of the petals. I hope the results reflect the beauty of the blossoms and the improvisational nature of monotype.
